Looking for gratitude
I want to change the title of this blog from “Have a hobby” to “Enjoy your life” but I am scared that I don’t enjoy my life so much that to always have something to write about, for you.
I think when you are grateful you really enjoy your life. And I lack a bit in gratitude.
I am better now in my retirement that I have ever been when I was working. I have an income. And I won’t mention that it is small because the discontent drives away my gratitude. It is like for every thing that I would normally be grateful I have a small discontent that kills my joy.
I wrote once about the resistance to happiness but I am not striving for that now, I want first of all to be grateful.
If you are like me and looking for gratitude make a list with all that you are grateful for or you should be:
I can pay my bills
I am healthy
I have a family that loves me
I have a life partner
I have a beautiful and good dog
I have faith in God
I have a home
I have an steady income
I have more than enough food in my home
I can afford my dog
I have a few good friends
I have hobbies and materials for them
I have all the appliances that I need in my home
I live comfortable in my flat having electricity, clean water and natural gas for my comfort
I live in a vibrant city with a lot of things to do
My family members are healthy and they have their flats to live in,
and I will stop here.
The list from above is for you to check some of the boxes. If you have 3 things that you are grateful for, you are wealthy.
We, all, have things to be grateful for; we just need to pay attention to our lives to see them.
I still think it would be difficult to change my blog from writing about hobbies to write in gratitude all the time, or to be in the flow. But I will try to write more positive. Having a hobby helps a lot to enjoy your life more!
See you in my next post!
