Hobby nr 33- Climbing
There are many types of climbing:
adaptive climbing for people with disabilities
alpine climbing- on rock, snow and ice
artificial wall climbing
mountain climbing or mountaineering
rappelling -using a rope to descend
sport climbing- typically a single pitch and a rope length.
There are a lot of beautiful places to climb near my city. It is a aria full of mountains, so mountaineering is the most used type of climbing near my city. Also one can do alpine climbing in the colder months since September till April. In that time mountains are full of snow and ice.
I personally don’t have this hobby but I did a few times mountain climbing. To practice this hobby I think one had to be in a good physical shape. When you climb you use all your muscles from all over your body. It is very tiring and one has to pay a lot of attention during the entire climb. This hobby is very dangerous.
It is better to start doing this hobby with people that have experience with it. There is a lot to learn about how to stay safe when you climb a mountain. You can easier learn by following others with the same passion like you.
You need some solid gear to climb, from clothes to rope and shoes and so on. And you need to train before you start ascending a mountain.
As pros for this hobby you can go in remote places and see beautiful landscapes. You can make very good friends with the same passion for mountaineering as you, because when you climb you rely on others to keep you safe. You can make beautiful photos as never seen before. You can see wild life in those remote places that you climb.
See you in my next post!
